Your Rural Fibre Co installation includes everything you need to get online with Splice Internet. Here’s how to get started.
Connecting to the NTD/ONT (terminal device and modem)
On installation day, our technicians will connect and power up your NTD/ONT (Network Termination Device / Optical Network Terminal).
Once it's connected, the modem/router inside the NTD/ONT is ready to go – no complicated setup required.
Setting up your WiFi
Locate the WiFi network name (sometimes called an SSID) and password – this is printed on a label on your NTD/ONT
On your device, open WiFi settings and select the network name
Enter the password exactly as shown (it’s case sensitive).
You should now be connected to the internet!
You can manage network names and other functions via the Nokia Wifi app
Setting up a direct wired connection
If you prefer to plug devices straight into your network rather than using wireless technology, you can plug into one of the LAN ports on the back of the NTD/ONT
Troubleshooting first-time setup
If your internet isn’t working after installation:
Check power – make sure the NTD/ONT is plugged in and turned on.
Restart equipment – turn the NTD/ONT off for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
If it still doesn’t work, contact Splice Support – we’ll run a quick check and guide you through next steps.
Tip: Keep your NTD/ONT in an open area, away from thick walls or large appliances, for the best WiFi coverage.
