Splice doesn’t offer a traditional landline, but you can still use a home phone service through VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). This lets you make calls over your internet connection instead of using copper phone lines.
Using VoIP with Splice
Most VoIP services work fine with Splice internet. You’ll need to:
Choose a VoIP provider
Check what equipment they require (such as a VoIP-enabled handset or adapter)
Confirm that the service is compatible with your setup
VoIP works much like a landline and often includes local, national, and mobile call options.
Important to know
VoIP depends on your internet and power. This means:
If your internet goes down, your phone won’t work
If there’s a power outage, you won’t be able to call 000
We strongly recommend keeping a mobile phone handy for emergencies.
What about copper landlines?
If you're in an area served by NBN Fixed Wireless or Satellite and are currently subscribed to a landline service, your existing copper landline may stay active alongside your Rural Fibre Co service.
If you rely on your landline for medical alarms, security systems or 000 access during power outages, check with your current phone provider to confirm it will remain connected.
