Splice's Acceptable Use Policy

Updated over 3 weeks ago

To keep our service fast, fair and safe for everyone, we have an Acceptable Use Policy that outlines how Splice Internet can (and can’t) be used. Here's a quick summary of what’s allowed, what’s not, and what happens if the rules are broken.

What’s allowed

  • Personal or residential use only

  • Fair use principles apply (i.e. use the service in a way that’s fair to everyone)

What’s not allowed

You must not use your service to:

  • Break the law (federal, state, or local)

  • Send spam or harmful content (like viruses or malware)

  • Access or share offensive or prohibited material

  • Interfere with the network or other people’s use of it

  • Abuse, harass, or threaten our team or anyone else

  • Host anonymising services like Tor relays

  • Tamper with or overload our systems

  • Infringe on copyright or intellectual property

  • Gain unauthorised access to other people’s accounts, data or networks

Basically, don’t do anything that could harm others or the service.

Consequences of breaking the rules

Depending on the severity, we may:

  • Give you a warning

  • Limit, suspend or disconnect your service

  • Report serious matters to the authorities, such as illegal content or security threats

Excessive or unfair use

If you use way more data than your plan allows, or your usage affects other customers, we may restrict or suspend your service.

Staying safe and secure

You’re responsible for protecting your own device and account. This includes:

  • Keeping your passwords secure

  • Using antivirus and firewall software

  • Monitoring usage by anyone in your household, especially children
