How is Rural Fibre Co connected to Splice Internet?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Who is Rural Fibre Co?

Rural Fibre Co is a Gippsland-based startup building brand-new fibre broadband infrastructure in towns that have been overlooked by traditional providers.

Founded by Phil Britt (who also founded Aussie Broadband), it focuses on delivering world-class internet to regional communities using a locally hired, highly skilled team.

It designs, builds, and maintains the underground fibre network – from laying the cables in the street to ensuring the network runs reliably for years to come. It handles all the “behind the scenes” infrastructure work that makes fast, stable internet possible.

Who is Splice Internet?

Splice Internet is owned by Rural Fibre Co and focuses on retail internet, selling plans and connecting customers to the Rural Fibre Co network. Splice is able to work closely with the team building fibre to your house.

How we work together

  • Rural Fibre Co builds and operates the wholesale network - that's the cable in the ground!

  • Splice Internet is a retail service provider that connects homes and businesses to that network.

When you sign up with Splice, we organise your plan, installation, and ongoing support – all while using Rural Fibre Co’s high-speed, low-latency fibre network.

Benefits of the partnership

  • Fast rollout – Because Rural Fibre Co owns the network and works locally, there’s nothing holding back your connectivity.

  • High quality – End-to-end control means fewer contractors, consistent standards, and better reliability.

  • Locally focused – Both Rural Fibre Co and Splice Internet are based in Gippsland, employing local people and supporting the local economy.

Need to get connected? Splice will handle every step of your order, including organising Rural Fibre Co to install equipment if needed.
